Visa Accepted!

Hello my loves,

It's a bit on an excited update today!

6 weeks ago I booked my flights to and from the UK and my countdown began! But I've been living with a little secret! I've been living with the possibility that I wouldn't be allowed onto the plane or into the country. You see, it was only 2 weeks ago that I applied for my visa... and I applied for an Ancestral Visa which apparently takes 'longer than a normal visa'.. well according to the lady at the Biometrics Building in Sydney! Now it wouldn't have been an issue, if at the time it wasn't only 6 weeks until my departure date with more stress placed upon me as I researched Visa Application approval times on the UK Border Agency website with 3 months being the most common time for people's Ancestral Visa's to be approved.. well, I obviously didn't have that much time.

SO, you could understand my excitement, joy and relief as I received an email today from the Application Centre in Manila that my visa 'will be dispatched shortly' and that everything is being posted back to me as we speak. IT ONLY TOOK TWO WEEKS! Who ever was looking over my application and approved it this quickly, I love you!

So with my visa all sorted and on its lovely little way to my hands the only thing I have left to do is send away the information needed to open up my own bank account in the UK so that if I work, I'll have some place for my money to go.. legally!

It's now getting down to the nitty gritty end of my countdown. I have to start going through my things and choosing what I can and need to take! I have a 30kg weight limit which is awesome because that's more than most airlines allow but that also means that I'm probably going to end up with the heaviest bag and it's going to be a pain dragging it around the airports.

If any of you live in England, what do you suggest I bring? I'm getting so excited I just want to spend all my money on clothes but I figured I'd end up buying clothes once I'm over there so I 'fit' in with the latest UK trends?! So any suggestions? Should I buy some here in Australia and then just go crazy at the shops in England? AND what other little trinkets should I bring over?

Also, I'm staying in London for the first couple of days as soon as I arrive. Are there any must see places that I must see before I travel up to Leeds?!

I can not wait until I'm over there! I can't wait to start posting about what I'll be doing and seeing and ahhh so much excitement!

Hope you've enjoyed this little excited rant and with the coming weeks you'll get to see what I end up putting in my suitcase! :)

Have a lovely day (or night like it is for me) and keep on smiling! :)

Liebster Award

Hello my loves,
So I woke up this morning with a comment on my previous blog post saying that I have been nominated for the Liebster Award! This is possibly one of the sweetest things that can happen to an up coming and new blogger because it shows that there are people in the blogging world who have read your posts and appreciate what you have to offer.
I was nominated by Isobel who has an amazing blog herself and I am so happy and appreciative of this nomination so Isobel, thank you so very much! :) Everyone please go and check out her blog, it is fantastic and well worth it :)
Now to be perfectly honest, I had never heard of the Liebster Award until this morning, but from what I've googled, the Liebster Award is blogger's way of saying "you're one of my favourites, good job". Liebster is a German word and is translated to 'favourite, sweetest and dearest' so thank you so much Isobel for deeming me worthy for this nomination!
Now it comes with some rules which are a fun way of your followers getting to know a little more about you and you getting to know a little more about your followers, so here goes:
  1. You must link back to the person who nominated you - Isobel (LashingsofLipstick)
  2. Write 11 random facts about yourself
  3. Answer the 11 questions given by the person who nominated you
  4. Tag and nominate people (I've seen tag 5 and tag 11 so tag how many you like)
  5. Come up with 11 questions for your nominees to answer
  6. Apparently no tag backs (which sucks - sorry Isobel)
  1. My birthday is the 12th August and I'll be 19 this year.
  2. I have never been out of the country. Going to England this year will be the first time I've left Australia.
  3. I've been front row at 3 concerts: The Script, Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran!
  4. Most people think I'm shy but people who know me can't get me to shut up.
  5. I've never had a boyfriend.
  6. When I was younger I would make cookie dough and eat it while my parents were out.
  7. I got a 73.50 out of 99.99 ATAR mark for my HSC without really trying as hard as I could have.
  8. I have absolutely no idea what career I want to end up in.
  9. I broke both my wrists in one motion during a Major Semi Football (soccer) match in 2011 and I had to sit out the Grand Final (so sad).
  10. I used to dream about being a professional singer until I got to high school and realised that everyone in my music class was more talented than me so I gave up on that dream.
  11. I was invited by Football NSW to trial for a Football Scholarship for a College in America but I couldn't go because it was my sister's birthday and I'll be in England this year.
  1. Who is your favourite Youtuber? Zoella. I found her first through watching other Youtubers and I enjoy every single video she uploads. She has inspired me to learn more about fashion and make up and when I found she had a blog I couldn't wait to start following her and reading what she has to say!
  2. What inspired you to start blogging and when did you start blogging? My aunty. She was born with a condition called 'congenital limb deficiency' which has left her with a shortened arm and leg. She now works for herself as a Motivational Speaker and has her own website and blog. She is just an extremely positive person about life and I wanted to be the same and have a platform to express myself to a broader audience. I have been blogging for a few months on Wordpress but I wasn't enjoying myself so I moved here to Blogger and have loved every second of it. I started my blog here about 4-5 days ago.
  3. What is/was your favourite subject at school and why? My favourite subject was Visual Art as it gave me a creative platform to work on that let me be myself. For my Year 12 Body of Work I produced a series of Prints which evolved from creating some Dry-point Etchings. I focused on the ability to create a sense of empathy and the need to help through the power of the eyes, focusing on children living in poverty.
  4. What do you want to achieve by blogging? I want to be able to help people in any aspect of their lives. If they find what I write useful and helpful then I’ve done my job! I just want to be a positive person that what I say and do inspires people to better themselves and improve their own lives.
  5. What is your best beauty buy which was under £5? £5 in Australian currency is $7.90 so for that price the best beauty item I’ve purchased would probably be my Burt’s Bees ‘Nourishing Lip Balm with Mango Butter’ for $6.95 retail. It is honestly the best lip balm I have ever used and keeps my lips moist for a long time and it tastes delicious!
  6. What is your favourite meal? Oh tough one. Do desserts count as meals?! My favourite meal would have to be a BBQ chicken and Caesar salad! YUM!
  7. Do you know/have any makeup dupes? I don't know any that I'm consciously aware of, but if you use a dupe brand of anything and it works and you like it then who are we to judge?
  8. Which book are you currently reading or what was the last book you read? I’m not currently reading anything, but the last book I read was probably ‘The Great Gatsby’. I had to read it for my English class last year.. I can’t remember if I’ve read anything since!
  9. What is an essential clothing item that everyone should have in their wardrobe? For me personally, the one item everyone should have in their wardrobe is a pair of quality denim jeans. Jeans go with absolutely EVERYTHING and can be dressed up for special occasions or dressed down for a more casual look! I personally love the darker navy jeans as they just suit a lot more tops and jackets compared to the lighter blue!
  10. What is a film that you have seen loads of times but still love it? I can watch both Captain America and The Holiday over and over and over again and never get sick of them!
  11. What is your favourite quote? My favourite quote at the moment is ‘You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough’. This inspires me to live my life the way I want to and to do the things that will make me happy because in the end, if you always put others before yourself, you’re going to regret things in life. You have to choose the right times to put people first and the times to put yourself first!
  1. Who is your favourite blogger?
  2. How long have you been blogging?
  3. If you had $100 to spend on either clothing, makeup or food which would you choose and why?
  4. What is your most embarrassing moment?
  5. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
  6. Who is your favourite musician?
  7. What is one thing you want to do/achieve before you die?
  8. Girl name and boy name for future children?
  9. Is your blog a secret to your family and friends?
  10. What is a must have beauty product every girl (and guy) should have?
  11. Through your blog, what would you like to achieve in the future (what is your blogs aim)?

I just want to thank every one who has read my blog and especially to those who have followed me! It means the absolute world to me and I can't wait for what the future will bring for me and my little blog!

Have a lovely day!

Age is just a number... right?!

Hello my loves,

When you grow up with siblings you never really take their age into consideration. For my family it never mattered how far apart we were in age, we always got along (in most cases) and we are and I'm sure always will be each others best friends. So when the time came for my sister to turn 21 a part of me went into denial.. I mean, how can she be that old already! She is one of the most immature and mature people I know.. but that also means that in just over 2 years I'll be turning 21.. WHERE HAS THE TIME GONE?!

My sister and I many years ago!

So to bring it back to reality, the past month has been dedicated to preparing the house, both inside and out for her party which consisted of about 35-40 of our closest family and friends coming around to our place. It has been a hectic and sometimes stressful month but it was all worth it as yesterday was the big day and not only did she enjoy herself, every one who came had the most incredible time!

It gave me a chance to think back on all the fun times we had together and how much I actually adored my big sister when I was younger. I wanted to be her, do what she did, go where she went and I owe her big time because if it wasn't for her, I wouldn't be the young woman I am today!

                                                            My sister and I on her 21st birthday - 17th Feb 2013

I think having the majority of our family over made me realise how much I am actually going to miss everyone when I go overseas! I decided to go for me but I didn't think about how it would affect everyone else in my life who actually care about me! It is going to be the hardest thing I have ever had to do, and my sister, well she's going to be one of the people I miss the most!

This year she's going back to University for the second time to begin a degree of Midwifery! She has found something she is passionate about and I think she is going to be an amazing Midwife! With her boyfriend of almost a year and a half, she is so excited about the future and in all honesty, I can not wait until she gets married and has children because they are going to be the cutest little munchkins in the world and I can't wait to spoil my little nieces and nephews!

I know this update was a personal one but I just needed to write about what a wonderful person my sister is and how proud I am of her! She deserves every happiness in her life and I can not wait to see what she achieves throughout her life!

Love you big sis! :)

Keep posted for more. My intention is to start updating about my preparation for my travels as I only have about 4 weeks to go!!! So, hopefully you will start seeing what clothing, make up and miscellaneous things that I'll be taking to the UK - Woo!

Have a lovely day!

Hello beautiful people!

Making a blog is a daunting task. When you first make it, you can't wait for those first few followers to come along because it means that there are people out there who have similar interests to you and find what you're saying worth reading! It's exciting because you have new people to talk to who can become your friends! That said, at the same time you don't want people to find your little blog in case they judge you and make you feel shit for posting things you want. Either way, you have to be true to yourself and believe that what you're blogging about is worth it, because your blog is your space - no one elses!

For those who are still reading, my name is Becky and I'm 18 years old from the beautiful country of Australia! This blog is going to feature all the things I love in life, all the things that make me happy! These include football (soccer), travel, baking, fashion, make up, photography, art, blogging and just simply, things that I go through in life (which most likely 99.9% of the human population will go through as well)

I decided to make this blog because I needed there to be a place where my voice was heard. Where I could talk when I want, where I want and about what I want. I let people control me through my weak ability to say no in fear that I will cause some one to be upset or mad! I hate being the reason behind someone's pain but I need to learn to be strong and know when people are just manipulating me, if I don't, I won't have much of a life! I need to become more confident within my self! I only have a small handful of friends and talking to boys scares the crap out of me! I don't want to regret how I have lived my life when I'm older so I need to start changing for the better! Any help would be very much appreciated!

In less than 5 weeks time, I will be sitting on a plane to Dubai... and then one to London, England! I am moving to the UK for 6 months, living with my aunty up north in the town of Leeds! I'm planning to do some travelling through Europe and can not wait to experience a little bit of life in different countries! So from the end of March until mid September, my blog updates will be from all around the UK and Europe!

I want this blog to be open to every one! I'd love to hear from everyone about anything. Although I'm not a professional advice giver, I am here if anyone needs someone to talk to! So come along and be a part of my online life! Feel free to comment and get in contact and just be awesome with me! I love you all, thank you for reading! :)

Love, Becky :) xx
